NoTube Semantic Web Services research goes L.A.

ICWS logoServices and in particular, Semantic Web Services (SWS) form one of the key pillars of the NoTube approach. July saw the presentation of some innovative SWS discovery research from The Open University at the major venue in the area of Web services research, the IEEE 7th International Conference on Web Services (ICWS 2009) which
took place in Los Angeles, CA, USA and was co-located with IEEE 2009 Congress on Services (SERVICES 2009-I) and the First International Conference on Cloud Computing (CLOUD 2009). ICWS has been a prime international forum for both researchers and industry practitioners to exchange the latest fundamental advances in the state of the art
and practice of Web services, identify emerging research topics, and define the future of Web services.

With an acceptance rate of 15,6 % (research track), the conference provided a good opportunity to present
NoTube-related research including a first demonstrator application and to discuss feedback with leading
researchers in the field.
