NoTube invited to Korea

NoTube's links to Korea and the IPTV industry there were strengthened as project coordinator Lora Aroyo took up an invitation by NoTube partner Korea Telecom to come to Seoul and present the project.

As part of the Korea Telecom seminar held on 8 October 2009 Prof. Aroyo presented the project at the organisation's central R&D lab in Seoul. Around 20 engineers from Kora Telecom were present and engaged in a discussion about Semantic Television.

Following this,  Prof. Aroyo attended the conference HCLT 2009 (21th annual conference on Human and Cognitive Language Technology) which was held at the Legend Hotel, Daejun, Korea on 9-10 October 2009. Organised by the Korean Institute of Information Scientists and Engineers and the Korean Society for Cognitive Science, HCLT brought together about 200 attendees interested in semantic web, cognitive science, and language technology.

NoTube and Prof. Aroyo would like to thank the Korean hosts for this opportunity, and look forward to strengthened EU-Korea co-operation on our Semantic Television vision.
