WP1: NoTube Models and Semantics

Objectives

The primary goal of WP1 is to provide the baseline models and semantics as a communication and coordination medium for ubiquitous applications publishing, managing, sharing and exchanging digital multimedia resources anonymously and asynchronously. The baseline models and semantics include:

  • Domain-specific vocabularies: e.g., IMBD (genres, geographical locations, people, biographies), TV-Anytime (built-in genre vocabulary), Facebook (book & film classifications)
  • Generic vocabularies: lexical resources, e.g. WordNets for different languages, geographical database such as Geonames, time ontology such as TIMEX and the W3C Time ontology.

WP1 will provide means to access these models in RDF/OWL format. The project expects to represent vocabularies with the help of SKOS. WP1 provides the semantic baseline for the use
cases. In this way WP1 provides the semantic basis for the service broker (WP5) and the semantics required by the use cases (WP7).
